Fred Galvin served over 26 years as an enlisted and Marine Corps officer, including assignments in the Infantry, Intelligence, Reconnaissance Forces and Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC / Marine Raiders). He has led hundreds of combat missions including raids, deep reconnaissance, ship capture and ambush operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman and Gulf of Aden. The Marine Corps selected Galvin to command the first Marine Special Operations Task Force to be deployed in combat. While serving a combat mission in Afghanistan, Galvin and six other Marines were falsely accused of war crimes leading to the longest trial in Marine Corps history that resulted in an acquittal.

Gv22 27. Betrayed By Their Government! Major Fred Galvin

Is the incredible true story of an elite squad of US Marines raised to confront war crimes in Afghanistan they did not commit, and their leader, Major Galvin, who fought for the redemption of his men.

, Galvin's book is the true story of an elite Marine special operations unit bombed by an IED and hit during an ambush in Afghanistan. Marine commandos were falsely accused of killing innocent Afghan civilians after the ambush. As unit leader, Major Galvin was relieved of duty and his unit was expelled from the combat zone. They have been condemned by everyone from the Afghan president to American generals. When Fox Company returned to America, Galvin and his captain were the targets of the first Marine Court of Inquiry in 50 years.

The book, written by Major Fred Galvin and Sal Manna, is currently available for pre-order through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and all other retail outlets.

I spoke with Major Galvin about the difficulties involved in writing the book, problems with the Uniform Code of Military Justice and more. Enjoy the interview below.

While the main theme is about the ambush and the fallout of the Fox corporation, what should a reader expect to learn from your book?

Major Galvin: In that case, don't judge a book by its cover. What happened with the Fox company was that we immediately became the bad guys, and everything the press and the Afghans said we did was proven in court, by incontrovertible evidence, to be false.

The book provides volumes of detail on what was said against us and what we actually did. And when people read this, they will see that the press and many top military leaders have fallen for a lie.

When corrected years later by civilian members of the media, not a single person in uniform stood up and used a legal term like "innocent" or "innocent" to describe us. But the damage was already done.

What happened to us is something that Americans do not expect from the leaders of the largest armies in the world. Americans think our leaders are trustworthy and don't expect them to betray those who fight for our country.

So again, one of the key takeaways from this book is to not judge a book by its cover. In this book, the true colors of some high profile military leaders are shown - for some, even honourable.

Major Fred Galvin

Major Galvin: I think when we were relieved of duty at that time, the most important thing for us was to continue to serve. I continued to serve for another seven years until I was forced to retire. I tried to correct all these things in my file, but you know, the Marine Corps wrote some very damning and false statements that they put in my military record - and they stay there.

Gen John R. Galvin, Usa (uncovered)

I fought for years to get those false statements removed, but the Marine Corps fought hard to keep it there to specifically get rid of me. And then, on the day of my retirement, the Marine Corps Times published an article saying that we killed 19 civilians and wounded 50 others.

This was absolutely false, so I contacted the managing editor of the Marine Corps Times, sent them a copy of my polygraph explaining the executive summary of the court of inquiry, and they simply changed the words to say we killed "up to 19 civilians." .

This was a byproduct of the military never using the legal terms "innocent" or "innocent." They just said "we did the right thing," which is not a legal term, and let the press say, "Well, there was never any comment that they were innocent."

Later that year, on the Marine Corps' birthday, we were hit again with similar kinds of false claims about the killing of up to 19 civilians, so I decided to skip the editor-in-chief and go straight to the top: the president of the media's parent company.

Bullets Flyin', Soldiers Lyin'

The military has never been held accountable for dragging us through the mud and allowing media lies to continue. There has never been any admission from the military of what they did wrong.

And this book explains all of that. The full story had to be told. Generally, you can't have marines, like MARSOC 7, walking through life with this black cloud. The level of professional destruction perpetrated on us is unethical, especially since it was all bogus to begin with. And the military is doing nothing to correct the data.

In this book, I present our case using factual and irrefutable evidence from court documents that I fought to declassify and obtain in federal court. It's the first time everything has been declassified and put into one volume.

, we will see if all the corrupt leaders involved can "face the truth" this book proposes.

Readers will understand that my Marines and I were simply doing what we were sent there to do, what we were trained to do, responding with the appropriate amount of force after a large car bomb - a large van packed with explosives - was ambushed by our patrol in Afghanistan.

I encourage readers to buy the book and understand the actions—and read the exact words—that leaders have taken to punish some good people.

What will it take for a revision of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) to finally happen?

Major Galvin: I honestly believe that the military has shown that senior military leaders are incapable of adjudicating their own legal issues. A recent example is retired Marine Corps Commanding General James Amos, where evidence of undue command influence (UCI) was found in the US Navy and Marine Corps Court of Appeals. The UCI has been labeled the mortal enemy of military justice.

We had senior military leaders who believed the original narrative that was brought against our patrol despite not waiting for the facts to emerge as they rushed to judgement. they
